thought i'd start a separate discussion on the subject.. those who know me know i'm struggling with faith; i want to believe, some days i do but it becomes difficult.. many believers say there is verifiable proof of jesus' existence outside of the bible.. please post this proof..

Jesus goes from age 12-30 without any word of what happened in between, not one word from a friend or neighbor. Example "Jesus wasn't always so Holy, I knew Jesus when we were young men chasing the ladies". Sources about Jesus several decades after the fact...Historians have measures in term of a burden of proof. If an author for instance is writing about a subject more than 100 years after it occurred it isn't considered valid. Another important metric is the validity of authorship, if the author cannot be clearly established, it makes the record for less reliable..But again we are dealing with facts and miracles (supernatural occurrence)....

Car commercial reminded me of JWs

'if a salesman came to your door to sell you a car, would you buy it from him?

The main reason folks are waking up (JW)..Today there is no reason to be a victim of a scam (and yes JW is a scam). I receive a unknown phone number, I look it up and most cases a scam( I won some trip some place when I never register for it). It has been said here before, if the net had been around in the 60's no way would there be 8 million JW's today.......

12 have empathy for unbelieving relatives.

while we may be overjoyed about the bible truths we have learned, our relatives may mistakenly believe that we have been tricked or have become part of a cult.

we should show empathy by trying to see things from their viewpoint and by listening carefully to discern their real concerns.

You know what is so funny about a cult, the person at the top knows it's all BS. In religion that person is long dead....I told one of my family members they are in a cult, you would think I told them they were in Satan's organization...LOL

Jehovah's people are not happy people

i finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.

i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.

i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

Miserable people seem to make friends with other miserable people..They spend as much time as possible distracting themselves from reality..They like to point out flaws in others, bring others down to their level..If you tell a JW you are happy and you are not a JW it don't make sense, you are ignorant you are lying....

Did Jesus pre exist? Yes or no?

when i first became a witness, i always found the teaching about jesus being the arch angel michael hard to swallow.

i did however believe that jesus pre existed as a master worker alongside god (the first of his creation).. but now everything is brought into question having watched anthony buzzard explain why jesus could not have pre existed as it is impossible to pre exist yourself.

also the fact that it all sounds contradictory to suggest, he was already alive millions of years before he was transferred to mary's womb to be born as a human - the son of man?.

The notion that Jesus had lived as a spirit before he was born takes away the power of his triumph over sin and death and the Bible know nothing of such idea. Only in the NT do we read of Jesus as someone who is alive and taking part in the affairs of human being living on the earth. The Jewish scriptures only speak of Jesus in the sense of looking forward to his coming, not spoken of as already existing, but as someone who would exist one day when the time was right.

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

Question, what's the numbers of women vs men..When you think about it for women to move up in the organization, when I get to heaven I will bring smoke on you arrogant male but right now I'am of the heavenly class and don't screw with me.......

Recently my cousin (minister) here in town for a birthday , so he asked about the family member who are JW's...

(my cousin)...so are there any family members that have moved up to be part of the 144000???( me.)....No, none so far, they are still peons. (cousin)....How does one become one of the 144000??? You know it's not easy to explain how one is notified by God Almighty that you have been selected to rule over mankind and you have replaced others who have died and demoted to a peon..It's not easy explaining that the person is contacted by a spirit, well maybe not a spirit but by some magical means (well not by magic) in a dream they know they have the calling..You sound like a crazy person..So I told my cousin, most people that is part of the 144000 have mental issues..
